I’m seeing greek key motifs. Everywhere.

latfh blog

It’s absolutely irrefutable evidence that you‘re completely and totally design-insane when you view the photo above and your very first thought is “yeah! greek key!” And even though they were all over the place a few years ago, to my eye they still look fresh.

Popular in Greek Revival architecture, the Greek key is sometimes called the "labyrinth" or "meander" pattern.

Page Flipping

A few weeks ago, I splurged for an lapful of shelter magazines of the non-domestic variety:  Living Etc., Inside Out, Vogue Living, Vogue Living Before & After, and Canadian House & Home. It was my very first peek at House & Home and I was really surprised. It’s not Domino, but it does have an easy, fun vibe. I recommend it.

Age-worn, Peaceful, Lovely

Wouldn’t you love to step inside this beautiful place? The bedroom in the photos below is one of my very favorites. So interesting — such a wonderful mix of periods, textures, and materials. Let your eyes wander through these images and be transported to a peaceful French countryside.

No matchy-matchy

Mmmm… layered pattern-on-pattern goodness. Just forget what your mom told you about clashing. If done with confidence, a jumble of pattern is perfectly stylish.

Pamplemousse

Delphine Krakoff is the talented designer behind Pamplemousse { translation: grapefruit } Design. Having grown up in Paris, she brings a European sensibility to her rooms. But at the same time, her work is light and airy. And, yes, her husband is Coach’s Reed Krakoff.
