Atlanta’s Kay Douglass is an extraordinary designer, editor, and influencer. Her shop, South of Market, sells European antiques, lighting, and found objects with a Belgian-rustic, Vervoordt-ish look that is beloved by designers and a design-loving public. Her interiors are composed of old, character-rich elements and new upholstered seating. But she edits until the rooms are spare and modern. Douglass’ signature colorway was a range from flax to mousey brown with a dash of rust-red. Until now. In this month’s Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, her new home is featured and her new look is unveiled. No more oatmeal linen and walnut floors. Instead, it’s all white, white, white — with pops of lemon or orange and a bit of dusty charcoal. It works, it’s fresh. And it’s still very Douglass. Below is the new home followed by some of her less recent work. Do you like her updated style?
