Interiors Aux Naturale

Some trendsters credit the green movement with wood, stone, water, and all things natural moving indoors. I think it’s just because we humans crave earthy elements. It just feels so good. Deep down inside-our-essence, way back to our cave dwelling ancestors good. Aesthetically, it meshes well with any design style from traditional to modern. And it offers a bit of quirky interest to an otherwise well-ordered room. Maybe it began with the American Studio Movement of the 1940s+ and the use of exquisitely grained woods?  Maybe it was embraced by the general house-proud population when granite countertops became the rage? Now shells, driftwood, rough-hewn wood objects, and a variety of stone from alabaster to onyx are at home inside the house. Furnishings and accessories are formed into the likeness of branches. Printed and woven surfaces evoke nature with stunning faux bois effects or foliage at its twisty-tangly-twiggy best. Here are some photos of great earthy products and interiors. So, let's get earthy and go aux naturale!
